We have spent the last three days completely relaxed in Ham Tien.  Seriously, I’m not sure the two of us have ever been this relaxed.

Ham Tien

Ham Tien is often referred to as Mui Ne, but that isn’t exactly correct.  Mui Ne is a town a bit further up the coast.  We haven’t actually been to Mui Ne yet, but hope to rent a scooter this weekend and check it out.

Ham Tien is not exactly the most challenging PigFish destination.  What it is is windy!  Pretty much the main attraction here is kite surfing.  The wind is beyond strong — we heard the wind was blowing at 40 knots earlier today.  And walking down the beach was challenging.  I’m pretty sure both of us got an exfoliating treatment just from the sand blowing across our legs.

Our biggest decision each day in Ham Tien is which ocean-side restaurant/bar we should plant ourselves in to watch

And our biggest task each day is making sure the wind doesn’t blow over our drinks. Or blow the food right off our plates.

As you can imagine, we HATE it here.  So much so that we have already extended our stay by three days (although we are moving to a different hotel) and are considering extending it even further….
