The Perfect First Day in Bangkok

After a LONG flight over, we had a nice relaxing first day in Bangkok.  We woke up to this view:

A bit hazy, but picturesque nonetheless.

After a breakfast of noodle soup (hello, Asia!), we walked around Lumphini park:

Where we met this guy:

As best as we can tell, they aren’t very dangerous.  But we got up and walked away shortly after this photo was taken…better safe than sorry (especially at the beginning of the trip).

We also wandered across this guy in the Chinese pavilion:

After that it was pool time where, once again, the view was pretty cool:

Then it was off to happy hour at the hotel and dinner at a nearby restaurant filled with locals (and for only $12 to boot!).  We couldn’t have asked for a better first day.

About theschneiduks

Lisa has a degree in biology and another in law and has spent the last 20 years working as a patent litigator. She is a voracious reader of young adult dystopian fiction and watches far too much bad tv. She loves pretty much anything to do with zombies, and doesn’t think there is anything weird about setting an alarm at 6 am on a weekend to stumble to a pub to watch her beloved Chelsea boys. Robert has had many professions, including a chef, a salesman, an IT guy and most recently, a stay at home dog dad. He speaks Italian and hopes to learn Spanish on this trip. He loves nothing more than a day spent sailing, hopes to do more scuba diving, and rues the day he introduced Lisa to football (i.e., soccer).
